The objective of ASER Centre (www.asercentre.org) is to carry out a variety of survey, assessment, evaluation and research activities in education and other sectors, as well as to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to design, conduct, understand, and disseminate these activities. I worked for both Pratham and ASER. I assisted with managing Pratham's flagship program, Read India as well as the Urban Programme. The motto is to address the needs of urban and rural children, both in and out of school, to provide learning support through a variety of interventions in the community as well as through partnership with State Govt. I assisted with mobilizing and training volunteers in the community, wrote proposals for partnerships with Govt. organizations and/or funding, organized workshops, and personally worked with children and parents as appropriate. I assisted with the conduct of The Annual Status of Education Report (ASER); The largest non-governmental household survey undertaken in rural India which is facilitated by the Pratham Education Foundation. I managed the implementation of the survey in the state of Andhra Pradesh, across 23 districts, reaching approximately 600 households per district. I worked with and trained close to 1000 volunteers from partner organizations in each district. Our state partners included Govt. Teacher Training Institutions and Google among others.
