I have attended and treated various of patients with musculoskeletal, neurological and respiratory disorders in intensive care units, acute wards, outpatient physical therapy department. Planning discharge with extended home care service was the part of the treatment. I worked in Knee club and Spine club where I used to take group exercises in batches for first 3 months. Then I got chance to work in inpatient department where i used to treat patients with joint replacement and ligament injuries. It involves recovery program for patients who undergo knee and hip replacements and ligament reconstructions. I used to do evaluation prior to surgery, giving ergonomic advice and education on surgery, encouraging an independent approach to their rehabilitation with the help of exercise charts. Post-surgery exercise program is helpful to increase and maintain range of movement of the operated joint, to increase muscle strength, promoting independent mobility with walking aids. I used to provide a physical therapist for their home therapy which used to boost the confidence in the patient. Follow up in out-patient department for reviewing patients few weeks post-surgery for appropriate advice and progression in exercise protocol. My Responsibilities : •Managing other units if and when required. •Supervision and education of nursing staff and physiotherapy students. •Writing patient case notes and reports; •Being legally responsible and accountable.
