Our founder is Shorouq Shatnawi, a gender and development executive. Shoura for Building National Consensus (Shoura BNC) is a non- governmental organization that led by women. Founded in (2019) as a consultative body to enhance the participatory approach among the national stakeholders working on youth civic engagement, peace building, and enhancing women's agenda. Building the national consensus and employing the participatory approach is what Shoura BNC prefer to employ when mapping the national priorities and urgent issues. What SHOURA means in Arabic? “Shoura” means in the pure Arabic Language, (the consultation, and seeking for other’s opinion, advices, guidance and decisions to agree upon an issue). That’s why Shoura comes with “Building National Consensus” since they are compatible with each other and closely attached in the language. -How we build the consensus: our local and national priorities and emerging issues will be defined through conducting national consultations and joint dialogues, and seeking strategic partnerships with local, national institutions, and Jordan- based iNGOs. -Consultations will include governmental bodies, local and international civil society organizations, youth and women led organisations and all stakeholders working to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and ambitious for developing their local communities. -As a civil society organisation, Shoura BNC seeks to be a great player in achieving a positive change in the Jordanian context and globally. Joint partnerships and looking for consensus are considered the spirit of the work of Shoura BNC organisation. -Our Master Keys to achieve our goals: 1- The Participatory Approach: 2-The Gender Mainstreaming as a cross cutting issue. - Vision: To enhance the participatory approach among the national stakeholders & to ensure that the gender equality is effectively mainstreamed.
