      Weltwärts is a program built to bring people from Germany, Asia, Africa, Latin America, Oceania and Eastern Europe together through volunteering and exchange projects. The program aims to facilitate international partnership and global engagement. Getting to work with Host Organisation, KURVE Wustrow – The Centre for Training and Networking in Nonviolent Action, the aim has been to highlight concerns around conflict resolution, environmental protection and using nonviolent means to dispute settlement. As a weltwärts volunteer, I have dived into domains much wider in length perpetuating effective means of growth and social change. Some of them are enlisted as under: • Promoted civic engagement to study the impact of wars, grappling tensions across international realms, social injustice and environmental degradation • Participated in Neue Wege community building projects to aid the population in rural areas suffering from disabilities • Participated in workshops for youth to train them in garden therapy models • Developed new ways to promote ecological balance, alternative means of farming and scientific methods to waste disposition in rural areas • Studied the impact of environment and natural surroundings to enable sensory perception of nature across all age groups accompanying garden therapy models • Promoted inter-cultural youth exchange to facilitate the dissemination of environmental knowledge Show less
