Monitor KPI's, samples, and parameters on process equipment to optimize utility usage and ensure production specifications are met for customers. Developed and executed trial to reduce fuel gas and nitrogen utilities on the flare. This resulted in a 50% reduction in utility usage, realizing a cost savings of $20,000 per year. Worked with operations team to develop operating discipline to clear piping on critical process equipment containing water to prevent damage during winter storms. Conducted RCA and implemented corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Work with operations team to complete pre-work for plant turnarounds such as isolations, operating procedures for clearing and cleaning equipment, and management of changes for all field changes. Evaluated current relief device inspection intervals, and extended inspection intervals on relief devices that showed consistent passing inspections resulting in $10,000 per year in savings. Interface with environmental group when conducting annual reporting and addressing deviations year to year. Show less

Conducted pipe roughness and efficiency study to show how current gas pipeline model parameters match historical data, and for commercial validation, demonstrated how pipeline models require a conservative capacity estimate. Analyzed gas inlet composition for new processing plant to properly size equipment and determine liquid dropout from the inlet stream. Created, presented, and acquired approval for a business case seeking to purchase a drone to capture aerial imagery of construction sites. Cost avoidance adds up to $100K per project by implementing in-house drone technology to capture aerial imagery. Analyzed construction contracts and separated obligations of each party represented in order to efficiently track obligation deadlines. Department: Adult Feminine Care, Research and Engineering Developed a test method that replicates in process conditions to test for product integrity. Using the developed test method gathered and analyzed data to recommend process improvements to provide a better consumer experience. Developing this test method allowed for a cheaper and more efficient way of recommending process changes to improve product attributes rather than performing a trial on the production machine. Department: Hand Towel and Bath Tissue Manufacturing Projects: Reduced basis weight variability in hand towels by 50%. Performed bench testing and analyzed data to deliver changes needed to be made to the process. Created a standard procedure to safely remove glue off of a core in order to prevent injury to operators. Recommended changes in process to reduce waste in hand towel converting assets by conducting a waste study. Maintained tensile strength quality tests and decreased chemical usage by 60% by doing a chemical trial in hand towels. Created a trial plan, communicated with tissue manufacturing and tissue converting operations, and communicated results to recommend executing further trials. Recommended average chemical dosage in tissue manufacturing by conducting chemical trial. Communicated process changes to tissue converting operations to ensure no downstream effects. Show less
