  Awesome company! Great opportunities! The role requires assisting the Store Manager in creating a fun environment through drive and enthusiasm to achieve company goal. I worked my way from a casual to an Assistant manager’s role within 9 months. It had been a challenging role at first but with experience and guidance of management I developed my skills to successfully achieve the store’s goals. I have had many opportunities to practice leadership skills and planning operations to hit our targets, improve our team’s as well as general store performance. I’ve also worked as Acting Store Manager on a couple of occasions and have also relieved inventory managers on 3 occasions. As a learning opportunity I have taken the initiative to complete a store manager’s training checklists and have been performing duties/tasks a store manager would at every opportunity. Achievements: Have successfully recruited, trained and developed 8 Sales Superstars. Exceeded sales budget on many occasions regardless competitor store is 5 minutes away and a new Animates Store (Sylvia Park) had opened in 2011. Ensured the win on 3 major internal competitions by successfully driving the team.

Achieved results without an Assistant Manager for over 2 months. Successfully recruited 3 new candidates and trained them. Achieved the win on 2 internal competitions.Overall feedback given was that I had a positive impact on the store and staff. I was given the opportunity to work as a Store Manager for another store but could not accept it at the time due to personal reasons.

  As an I.T. Administrator I was responsible for all I.T. related tasks both software and hardware and training I.T. staff at the western branches (4Supermarkets). Being one of the key personnel, it was up to me to ensure smooth running of daily operations of all departments in the supermarket as everything was linked with I.T. Having several duties to do daily I always had planned ahead and prioritized my work in the most effective manner. During my time with RB Patel I gained a lot of knowledge about supermarket operations, it was a very demanding and challenging role where I learnt to work under pressure. It’s also where I developed an interest in management which lead me to the decision of studying management here in NZ. Achievements: Succesfully recruited, trained and developed three I.T personnel. Learned Supermarket Operations i.e. Receiving, Banking procedures, Accounts receivable/payable and merchandising.
