  Responsible for collection development, research, interpretation, display and scholarly publications; exhibition generation and organization; collaborating with education team; assisting with donor development and stewardship; and representing the museum, its mission, exhibitions, collections and programs to its members, the field of American art, and the public at large in collaboration with other curators. Associate Curator of Paintings and Sculpture (July 2014-July 2016) Initiated gallery devoted to exhibitions of Texas art from private collections, rotated annually to explore various facets of the state’s art, 2013–present. Responsible for maintaining permanent collection presentation, focusing on twentieth-century paintings and sculpture as well as contemporary local artists. Created a case statement for expanding the museum's collecting practices to include contemporary works on paper. Achieved first acquisition of contemporary prints under the new collecting guidelines. Assistant Curator of Paintings and Sculpture (February 2009-July 2014) Developed two exhibitions for the museum's fiftieth anniversary celebration in 2011. Co-organized fiftieth anniversary Tandy scholarly symposium, "New Perspectives on a Collection." Acquired prints for the works-on-paper collection. Responsible for project managing five incoming exhibitions, and creating 3 exhibitions from the permanent collection. Contract Essayist (January 2000-July 2002) Conducted research and wrote entries for the exhibition catalogue, "Celebrating America: Masterworks from Texas Collections," 2002. Curatorial Assistant (June 1998-June 1999) Researched works of art in the collection and for exhibitions and new acquisitions for Senior Curator of Prints and Drawings, Jane Myers. Show less
