  As an Electric Site Engineer in the distribution sector, my job responsibilities revolve around the erection of poles, installation of transformers, stringing of conductors and cables, cable laying using the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method, material requisition and reconciliation, and reconductoring work for Low Tension (LT) and High Tension (HT) lines. Additionally, i also manage billing based on Bill of Quantities (BOQ). One of the key aspects of my work is the erection of poles, including PCC (Pre-stressed Cement Concrete) poles of various heights such as 8m, 8.5m, STP (Steel Tubular Pole) of heights ranging from 9m to 13m, and other types of poles as per project requirements. This involves ensuring proper foundation design, excavation, reinforcement, concrete pouring, and curing, as well as managing the quality of materials used and adherence to safety standards. Another significant part of my job is the installation of transformers, which involves determining the appropriate type and rating of transformers based on project specifications and load requirements. I oversee the entire process, including handling and positioning of transformers, making necessary electrical connections, testing, and commissioning. I also ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, and address any technical issues that may arise during the installation process. As a site engineer, i am responsible for stringing various types of conductors and cables, which are essential for transmitting electrical power. This includes selecting the appropriate type and size of conductors based on the load requirements and project specifications, stringing them on overhead lines using suitable methods and equipment, and ensuring proper tensioning and sag calculations for optimal performance. My work also includes cable laying using the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method. Show less
