Because of her amazing ability to direct; the Center for Individual and Family Counseling has been transformed during the last three years. Sherry has an extraordinary ability to provide directions for the Counseling Center like never before in it's history. As she gets a new vision for the Center each time, she is able to execute her vision in ways that bring tremendous quality to the Counseling Center both as a training Center, where the Intern-Counselors get in-depth training - and to the clients who receive quality counseling where they expeirence growth and healing in their relationships.       This position dealt specifically in the creation and continual program development of this bi-lingual, multicultural family violence prevention education program for low income immigrant Latino families who are at risk for violence in the home. Duties included the writing of course workbooks, creating, up- dating and teaching a two part 20 week course curriculum on non-violent parenting techniques and strategies to parent participants. Duties required the design of baseline, exit and post-program questionnaires to be used as a measurement tool for the statistical data on client post-program out comes. As program manager, duties also included creating and presenting faculty and clinical staff workshops at the Dubnoff Center as well as in three local public schools. Workshop themes included; “The Adolescent Brain- a Neuropsychological Perspective on the Development of the Human Brain,” “Mandated Reporters Duties in Cases of Child Abuse,” and “Consequences of Filing a Child Abuse Report.” Finally other duties included marketing the program to area institutions which work with this specific population as well as the coordination and hiring of child care workers, therapists and case managers. Financial responsibilities included the writing of budgets and analysis of expense reports. The Program Manager also played a role in collaborating with the Directors of Clinical Services, Development and the CEO/President on grant writing and fundraising for the Dynamic Families program.
