Managing the Mental Health department at Tarzana Treatment Centers Reseda facility. As the Clinical Supervisor and Program Coordinator, duties include the hiring and training of MFT and MSW clinicians in the therapeutic environment. The counseling programs available include individual, couples, families, group therapies and psychiatric services. We work closely with other TTC programs such as our Intensive Out Patient Substance Use programs, Transitional Housing for HIV + patients, the TTC Medical Clinic, and Case Management. Duties also include direct contact with L.A. Department of Mental Health, Medi-Cal/Medicare and private insurance companies for purposes of contracts and billing. The administrative duties relative to the Executive Director functions include board of trustee development, fundraising campaigns, marketing, community outreach, human resources, volunteer recruitment and public relations. Clinically I am responsible for refining the clinical curriculum for the participating trainees and interns who work at the facility and also in the CIFC School Based Mental Health program in collaboration with LAUSD. The clinical programs include marriage, family, child, and individual therapy, as well as parenting programs and an eating disorder group. Program Manager-Dynamic Families Program

This position dealt specifically in the creation and continual program development of this bi-lingual, multicultural family violence prevention education program for low income immigrant Latino families who are at risk for violence in the home. Duties included the writing of course workbooks, creating, up- dating and teaching a two part 20 week course curriculum on non-violent parenting techniques and strategies to parent participants. Duties required the design of baseline, exit and post-program questionnaires to be used as a measurement tool for the statistical data on client post-program out comes. As program manager, duties also included creating and presenting faculty and clinical staff workshops at the Dubnoff Center as well as in three local public schools. Workshop themes included; “The Adolescent Brain- a Neuropsychological Perspective on the Development of the Human Brain,” “Mandated Reporters Duties in Cases of Child Abuse,” and “Consequences of Filing a Child Abuse Report.” Finally other duties included marketing the program to area institutions which work with this specific population as well as the coordination and hiring of child care workers, therapists and case managers. Financial responsibilities included the writing of budgets and analysis of expense reports. The Program Manager also played a role in collaborating with the Directors of Clinical Services, Development and the CEO/President on grant writing and fundraising for the Dynamic Families program. Worked with a myriad of clients directly in individual, couples, and family therapies. Began therapeutic orientation with supervisors combining Psychodynamic and Family Systems. Preliminary training focused on ethical and legal scenarios that are common in everyday practice. Trained to effectively assess and handle crisis issues such as suicidality and Tarasoff. Determined diagnosis with supervisor for submission to insurance companies. An emphasis was given on a complete intake process, clinical evaluation, treatment plans, diagnosis and clinical case notes, all within a legal and ethically appropriate framework. Psychological orientation is an eclectic mixture of Psychodynamic Family Systems and Cognitive/Behavioral therapies, placing an emphasis on matching the therapy to the needs of the client. Show less
