  I serve as the Program Manager for the SHEF Explorers Program. The Explorers program is an opportunity for middle and high school students to see the many jobs in the health care career cluster. I plan and organize our visits to a variety of health care facilities in the Tri Cities Region. I organize, implement and evaluate Explorers Program (including Fall/Spring Explorers, Summer Middle & High School Camps). Some of my responsibilities include... Contact health care facilities to serve as hosts/presenters, Contact College & Career Planning presenters for each Explorer night, Organize and implement Orientation program for Explorer programs and camps, Manage and recruit adult volunteers,Recruit health care workers to participate in career fairs, manage distribution lists, partner with Boy Scouts, create marketing materials, write press releases, market programs via Facebook, manage social media accounts, partner with school systems to market Explorer program, participate in College and Career related school programs and provide educational programs on health care careers, connect students to volunteer opportunities in health care fields/facilities, participate in workforce related meetings and activities to connect with local businesses to recruit additional health care facilities, connect with potential sponsors/supporters of SHEF, participate on CTE Advisory Committees throughout the SHEF Service region, participate in PEER Educators Institute and provide presentations as needed, provide presentations to local civic groups (for examples Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Clubs, etc., serve as a resource to community members interested in pursuing health care careers (answer questions, respond to calls and emails), serve as a resource to past Explorers regarding post-secondary options, connect/ recruit students to participate in health care related career opportunities, promote SHEF Scholarship programs and review scholarship applications.
