The predominant goal of this project is to increase access to dental care for young children & adolescents & improve oral health literacy for families across our state. We accomplish this through ; Educating Physicans in their community teaching practices, medical students, pediatric & family practice residents the importance of oral health to physical health, examination of teeth, oral health risk assessment, family education, fluoride varnish application, and referral to and collaboration with local dentists. Working with Headstart, early childhood educators and WIC programs to find family friendly education materials for physicians & other professionals serving children birth to 5 years old in PA Show less
