I had the pleasure of working directly and daily with Sherm at a Monsanto Breeding research station between 2005 and 2010. I also had the pleasure of working with Sherm directly and indirectly on several miscellaneous projects at Monsanto’s Chesterfield campus between 2010 and 2015. Sherm is an outstanding collaborator who strives to do his very best work at all times. He is a natural leader who is extremely supportive and team oriented, and who consistently seeks the elevation and recognition of his peers. Sherm is a critical thinker, a practical and agile scientist, and an excellent communicator who has a knack for summarizing complex ideas into simple concepts that can easily be understood by individuals operating outside of his discipline. Sherm is results focused, yet he balances that focus with a genuine interest in and time spent with his team. I can’t adequately express how thoroughly I’ve enjoyed working with Sherm over the last 10 years, and I can say without a shadow of reservation that I fully recommend him for any task and any career that he wants to pursue.
