The Eau Claire County SWAT is a regional multi-jurisdictional team comprised of several local agencies. The tactical team is used to respond to high-risk situations requiring additional personnel, specialty equipment, and personnel trained in advanced tactics. The Eau Claire County Regional Team is recognized as one of eight state regional teams through the Wisconsin Emergency Management, Aligned Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT). The Combined Response Team (CRT) is comprised of members of the Chippewa Falls Police Department, Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department, Chippewa Falls Fire & Emergency Services, Chippewa Fire District and Chippewa County Emergency Government. CRT consists of Command Personnel, Team Leaders, Entry Personnel, Sniper Element, Negotiations as well as several other sub-categories. CRT members are specially trained in several areas some of which include: high-risk search warrant execution, hostage/barricade situations and wooded/rural incidents. CRT primarily responds to incidents occurring within Chippewa County, WI. However, CRT is partnered with the Eau Claire County Regional SWAT and is activated for extreme cases out of Chippewa County where additional resources and/or equipment are needed. Show less
