Responsible for creating alcohol, tobacco and drug-free communities through prevention strategies. Developed anti-drug coalitions in five counties. Created educational media campaigns, public health education presentations and community awareness which led to community changes. Key team member in agency’s grant development team.ACHIEVEMENTS: Wrote the grant which funded ($93,000) the establishment of the Prevention Resource Center. Led the community coalition that opened the first Arkansas Oxford House, sober living home. Led the developing team which created the “Healthy Living – It’s Up to You!” media campaign which is still active - graphics provided upon request. Trained 50+ community coalition leaders in strategic planning and community action strategies. Created community change: smoke-free restaurants boomed from 37% in Boone county to 95% two years prior to state mandates, due to the education and awareness delivered by community coalition efforts. Developed multi-program strategic plans with measurable outcomes for fiduciary. Managed administrative and financial functions of program.
