I helped to manage ACI’s and sister company’s, U.S. Software, development and implementation of public relations and integrated marketing communications and branding strategies around the world, specifically in North and South America, Western Europe, South Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions. For ACI Worldwide, I helped to lead publicity efforts to build market acceptance of the banking software that ran the first shared Automated Teller Machine (ATM) network for the Dalian Credit Card Network of China, the first U.S. First Union VISA Cash stored-value smart card deployment and various home banking software initiatives for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and Checkfree Corporation. Around 1996, the Internet was just taking off and I came up with the idea to offer on-demand strategic and marketing services to the under-served technology start ups who did not have the budget to hire a full-time marketing staff or a traditional advertising agency, It was then that I decided in 1996 to found Ad Hoc Communication Resources.
