Shellie is an incredibly talented leader. I have had the pleasure of working along side Shellie for nearly 12 years while working at NCDPI. Shellie was the Executive Director for the Governors Council for Youth Fitness and Sport and as the President and CEO of Be Active NC. I must say that one of her many qualities, is working with tough people/ situations and funding solutions. She was a success at creating statewide initiatives and scaling them for others across the country, who marveled at our work. She is a thoughtful, innovative, and strategic thinker who follows through to the smallest detail. As a fundraiser, she was able to secure funding to help improve the lives of North Carolinians through innovative programs, policies, and people interaction. As a leader, she motivated all of us to be our best selves. I am always in awe of her positive attitude even in the tough times. She is a strong leader and I respect her so much. I miss working with her and hope that will change in the future and our professional paths cross again. Shellie Pfohl has my highest recommendation and will be an amazing member to any team.
