This role involved gathering data in Social Experiments. I was involved in two different projects, each of which involved travelling to different locations around Scotland, gathering data for experiments. As these were empirical experiments being replicated repeatedly, I had to work to a set routine and also respect confidentiality agreements. Some of the experiments took place within primary schools. This provided me with experience in working with vulnerable participants. Also, some tests were regarding height and weight of participants, which was often an upsetting process for individuals.
