  *SONG* DANCE* PERFORMANCE*“Be the Voice You Hear in Your Dreams”Sheli Stevens, a working professional singer as well as actor and dancer will share with students of all levels her experience of 30 years.In a safe, fun, and creative environment students will learn a variety of skills from the most basic breathing and warm up techniques to how to use the voice, body, and space to create a dynamic performance. These techniques will encourage the students to develop important aspects such as self-confidence, positive self-image, and body awareness.Students will learn:• How to have FUN while singing!• Proper breathing• How to warm up the voice and body• Proper phrasing• How to control the vibrato• How to translate a songs’ meaning and message• The benefits of adding movement and dance to help bring the song to life• How to move the body to create the visual part of the performance• How to “work the space” by using the whole stage• The importance of connecting with the audienceStudents will be taught in a fun and dynamic group setting.A group number will be taught to all with choreography. They will also choose a song that they will sing as a solo. A concert will be performed after every session to showcase the classes accomplishments!Sheli will help guide students in choosing songs based on their interest and vocal strengths. Genres such as Pop, Jazz, R and B, Rock and Musical Theatre will be encouraged. Classes will include active warm-ups for the voice and body, techniques to strengthen and expand the vocal range, breathing exercises, Theatre and Dance 101.
