  During my 2 weeks at Barclays Capital I was lucky enough to gain experience of a wide range of areas within the bank. This allowed me to have an overview of a how different areas of a bank interact with each other, such as the stock and cash teams for precious metals. The areas in which I gained an overview included: London Metal Exchange trading floor, precious metals trading desk, trade confirmations, precious metals stock, cash and product control teams as well as oil and Pendle, commodities future swaps team and compliance. This vast range of areas meant that I was able to gain experience in how some of the computer systems work, like Openlink; along with being able to complete daily tasks, for example completing the Reuters for trade confirmations desk.
