Primary role: Part of the design team working towards the design of "A Designed Life." An ensemble of three 1950 exhibits; namely, Contemporary American Textiles, designed by Florence Knoll, Contemporary American Wallpapers, designed by Tom Lee, and Containers and Packaging, designed by Will Burtin. A Designed Life unites and interprets these exhibits by re-staging and interpreting part of each display as it might have appeared in the early 1950s. The meanings behind these exhibits are made visible and explored — and overall visual unity is achieved — through the use of objects, images and other types of period artifacts. Show less

The RE/PUBLIC is a collaborative agency in Baltimore, MD comprised of architects, designers, artists, builders, and developers; all members have individual practices with several members serving as faculty at Morgan State University’s School of Architecture and Planning. I served as a student/artist volunteer for the RE/PUBLIC and did primarily assembly and presentation of "The Divided Line," which was an interactive installation created for Light City Baltimore. The project utilizes Virtual Reality (VR) to provide an alternate framework as an interpretation of an idealized construct to be inhabited. The light form itself divides into two chambers to be occupied by visitors who can engage the VR experience upon entering. As a student volunteer, I worked primarily on-site and assembled the structures steel-frame and poly-carbonate paneling system. Show less

Design | Connect at Gensler allowed me the opportunity to observe the Professional Design Office and Construction Site under the supervision of an industry professional. As a student transitioning into my senior year of architecture, at that time, it was timely enough to get familiar with the processes involved in the delivery of actual design and construction. construction projects.
