      • Feb 2017 - May 2017

While I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, I was able to partake in the opportunity of teaching English to Elementary and Middle School aged students within the Florentine Public School System. This opportunity allowed me to become more involved in Italian culture and offered experience within community outreach and basic teaching skills, such as creating lesson plans, interacting with students, and having basic English to Italian discussions. Every Wednesday, except on holidays, I taught an 8th grade level class and a 4th grade level, respectively. My lessons ranged in difficulty with in the older grade level, usually consisting of American culture terms and themes, and describing landscapes, food, events, etc. in English. Whereas, in the 4th grade level, I was able to play with the kids, teach them English rhymes and games, and the lessons included teaching them basic colors, food, and clothing in English. I was so thankful to have been apart of this community outreach program, as it has helped me become more independent, better my Italian, and offered me outlook into other cultures and communities. • Aug 2016 - Sep 2016

During the month of August 2016, I was able to complete my second internship at the Boston Preservation Alliance. As the intern, I researched the endangered community of Boston's Ladder Blocks District. Utilizing my research skills, I used a variety of sources in order to gain information on the District; including: Massachusetts Historical Commission's database MACRIS, archival resources from the Bostonian Society and Historic New England, historical and recent photos of buildings within the District, redevelopment proposals, and a handful of others. Along with researching, I assisted in the writing of Preservation Massachusett's Most Endangered Resource Application for the Ladder Blocks. At the end of my internship, I compiled all my research and resources to write, design, and edit an eBook for the historic district. I was able to gain more insight on the field of historic preservation, enhance my researching skills, and widen my horizons within future courses and careers. Show less

Working at the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum was my first internship while at Endicott College. I worked within the Education Department and I researched a variety of topics that pertained to the American Revolution and Boston Tea Party. Most of my work was conducted independently outside of the office, as I wrote multiple historical research papers. Each paper I wrote had the central theme of John Hancock and his role in the Boston Tea Party and American Revolution. All the information that I collected could be utilized by the museum in the future and students who are researching the information themselves. As the intern, I gained and improved skills and knowledge on the topic of early American History, and gained considerable practice in writing research papers. Show less
