Responsibilities include research and recommendations for covenants and terms on fee and easement acquisition projects, grant research, application and facilitation for acquisitions, programs and operations., donor and membership support and development through project interests, oversight of Forest Stewardship Council(FSC) and Tree Farm certification and compliance, collaboration with contracted professionals involved with RLHT stewardship practices, oversight of forest ecosystem and invasive species management plans, annual reporting to the State’s Conservation Lands Registry and taxation programs, conservation easement research, management and annual monitoring, management of RLHT’s Tree Growth and Open Space tax affiliation programs, annual training and oversight of seasonal stewardship interns, including safety practices, Lands For Maine’s Future annual compliance reporting, recreational trail design, installation and maintenance, oversight of the 2004 Settlement Agreement of the licensing of Upper and Middle Dams, Global Information System (GIS) use for organizational development and acquisition research, press releases and articles pertinent to stewardship practices, regular communication with designated RLHT committees, member recruitment and retention through organized RLHT events, and annual planning and management the Outdoor Adventure Series for adults.
