My responsibilities at this non-profit level 2 trauma center include being the nighttime charge nurse and daytime circulating nurse and charge nurse. I manage all traumas that come into the OR during my shifts, prepare operating suites for surgeries the next day, gather all supplies needed for said surgeries and solve any problems that may occur. During my dayshift duties, I prepare my rooms if needed, check my patients in by verifying their name & information, assisting the patient in moving to the operating table & securing them in a comfortable fashion, charting the surgery, assisting the surgical technologist in getting ready & getting any supplies needed during the surgery. I also am the Team Leader for Oral & Plastic surgery. With this responsibility I make sure stock is up to par by working with sales reps, correlate with my surgeons on what they need for surgeries & also when they will be operating, and training others on these specialties.
