This organization works to connect students with the city of Pittsburg by providing a student’s perspective on city ideas and events. We also share student concerns with the city, and seek to educate students on issues by bringing in local officials to speak on topics like tenant rights and safety. In addition, we help students discover resources they can use if they have a problem on campus or in the city. Our main focus as a group was also educating students and community members on tenants rights so as to combat the housing monopoly that disproportionally targeted students: both domestic and international. By connecting with lawyers and student rights representatives we aimed to make sure students were aware they had a legal right to a living in a space that was safe and up to code regulations. We also made guidebooks for students on things to look for when renting an apartment for the first time. Show less
