I am delighted to recommend Shelby, who worked under my supervision for 4 years at Renaissance BioScience. Shelby was a great fit with our work culture, she was always cheerful and enthusiastic and approached her work with a positive, can-do attitude. Shelby has a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail. She started off with Renaissance as a Lab Assistant but worked her way into a Research Technician role on my team, which progressed into a Research Associate position. Shelby was instrumental in our yeast selective breeding pipeline, working on multiple different lineages at once and performed various phenotypic screens in parallel. Her strong attention to detail, excellent note taking, and organizational skills enabled her to maintain multiple breeding lineages and allowed for the rapid advancement of candidate strains from our pipeline. Shelby was always willing and eager to learn new skills and techniques. She can follow SOPs independently and has demonstrated the ability to troubleshoot experiments which has often led to improvements in many of our SOPs. She is results-driven and self-motivated worker. She has no issues with shifting priorities and understands the nature of working for a small and nimble biotechnology company. She can work in a resource-limited environment and always strives for improving the efficiency of her workflow. Shelby is also a strong team player and understands her role within the broader group and was always happy to help colleagues advance their projects where appropriate. She is an honest communicator and sees constructive criticism as an opportunity to better her skills and her work product. I am happy to give Shelby my recommendation as I believe she is an asset to any lab that hires her. She possesses excellent intrapersonal and technical skills which will allow her to thrive in any lab setting. Please feel free to contact me if additional information if needed. Sincerely, Zachari Turgeon Principal Scientist, Microbial Research and Innovation Renaisance BioScience Corp.
