  The Quality Assurance Specialist is a VA TAP contractor personnel who monitors and controls TAP operating model activities. Duties include in-person and virtual observations and performance evaluations of Benefits Advisors.   Responsible both operationally and administratively for all VA Benefits Advisors assigned to installations within the Midwest Region of the United States. Responsible for ensuring that all planned activities are executed to meet cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality objectives. Coordinates project work packages and supports studies as required by management. Performs analysis, development, and submission of deliverables and recurring reports. Responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit including the collection of progress data and information. I ensure all onboarding, counseling, and quality assurance standards are met for both the Prime on the contract and Horizon Strategies. Responsible for tracking and providing monthly invoices to bill against the Travel Budget for the VA TAP Contract. Responsible for ensuring that all travels by Benefits Advisors meet not only VA mission requirements but, to ensure that all travel costs fall within the confines of the approved Government Per Diem rates and submit requests for exceptions to the policy when needed. Tasked with providing operational support to both the Midwest Region Lead, all levels of Operations, and to the VA Transitional Liaisons when needed. Worked effectively with all levels of leadership with both DOD and DHS, including the Transition Assistance Program Management Teams on each installation. Acting as key points of contact for transition managers, as it relates to the VA portion of the TAP curriculum. Providing post-separation/retirement support to Veterans and their families in hopes of assisting them in finding gainful employment or a training program that could eventually lead to gainful employment. I have worked with community partners to find training opportunities for Veterans and their families so that they might gain “upskilling” opportunities to help make them more marketable in the employment sector.
