    • Project Director, Basic Skills Transformation Grant
      • Aug 2016 - Present

As Project Director for the Basic Skills Initiative Grant, I have oversight of a 3-year, $1.5 million grant, from development to implementation. The overall goals of the grant are to shorten the time that students spend in remedial pathways for English, ESL, math and reading, and to increase the number of students completing industry-relevant degrees and certificates in a 2-year period. To accomplish these goals, I coordinate with college Deans and faculty in basic skills and CTE disciplines, and help to solidify relationships with local feeder school districts. Show less

    • Interim Dean, Institutional Effectiveness
      • Aug 2014 - Jul 2016

In my position as Interim Dean, Institutional Effectiveness, I worked effectively with administrators from Academic Affairs, Student Services and Business Services to provide data and make recommendations in areas of enrollment management, program review, alternative placement methods for math and English, and the use of a business intelligence solution to better integrate data reports into decision-making processes. I am proficient in SPSS, Excel, Access and Microsoft PowerBI.As a long-time faculty member at MVC, I have excellent working relationships with faculty and have worked closely with faculty and staff to design and carry out research projects that are useful for their planning purposes. I have over six years of experience in outcomes assessment and my leadership in the development of an online system for assessment, program review and resource allocation led to the resolution, in 2015, of ACCJC recommendations concerning assessment and integrated planning made during the college's site visit in March 2014. I have extensive experience in preparing college reports. I served as faculty co-chair/editor for three MVC self-studies, in 2001, 2007, and 2013 and have also served as a member of visiting teams to two other colleges. I have coordinated efforts for annual reports to ACCJC for at least three years. I have prepared reports for the college regarding various research conducted by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, including summaries of an EDUCAUSE survey, the Community College Survey of Student Engagement, and progress reports on college standards. As the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness I have made presentations to many groups, including an Executive Management Group at Microsoft in Redmond WA related to use of PowerBI in educational analytics.
