4289 is a full-scale marketing and advertising consultancy agency. In this position, I managed and reported on the Google Analytics and Google Search Console accounts for multiple clients, working directly with the web developer and graphic designers to implement SEO, keyword, and content best practices. I adopted an inbound content marketing approach early on, and helped account executives research the pain points of our clients' customers in order to guide and outline content opportunities. I advised and consulted with account executives and clients based on findings from the audits I conducted via the Google platforms, technical auditing software (Raven Tools, Moz, etc.), and assisted in the development of client presentations by providing prioritized action items for the optimization of their website and overall marketing strategy. I also gained experience with Google AdWords management, local search, copywriting, editing, social media management, market research, brand analysis and positioning, and contributed to the agency blog on a regular basis.

The mission of the APA office is to audit and investigate the financial operations of Nebraska state and local governments. As Business Manager, I provided general office support, including HR, accounting, and payroll functions to the 50-person agency. Professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency were keys to success in this role. Additionally, I assisted with the planning, production, and implementation of the agency’s new website, as well as all related communications tasks such as: database management, email correspondence, editing publications, media and press, and organizing the Auditor’s schedule. I coordinated and delegated responsibilities to a team of two interns and an administrative assistant, and spent ample time implementing new record-keeping procedures.

It is here where I first discovered my love of consulting, training, and teaching. This office is considered the pulse of student life at UNL. From facilitating conversations with students desiring to get involved on campus, to training student leaders on how to obtain resources for their organization, to event planning with other campus departments, my problem-solving skills were daily put to the test. In this position I most enjoyed the opportunity to constantly develop something new. Whether New Student Enrollment presentations, University policy manuals, staff training resources, materials for special programs and events, or overall program development, I fell in love with organizing written information so that its presentation could be engaging and meaningful. I also did my fair share of staffing award banquets, seminars, and lunch n’ learns for student groups. And all glamour aside, there was a considerable amount of time spent answering phones, standing at copiers, entering data, routing emails, and maintaining three databases. I loved all of that, too.
