Bio
Marie Lehmann
I reported to Sheena Pentin when I worked at Dow Jones International. Sheena was a wonderful mentor to me at the beginning of my career in the UK. I found her truly inspirational not only because she was juggling a young family and a very senior role within a global organisation at the time but most importantly because of the example she set for me. Her work ethics are second to none and I have always been impressed by her drive to achieve excellence . She is a fantastic communicator, a great listener and a true leader with very strong people management skills. I was not surprised when I heard that Sheena had launched her own executive search consultancy in the social impact space since I always thought that she had a true talent in recruiting and surrounding herself with high calibre people. I would highly recommend Sheena as a colleague, mentor, manager and confidante.

Eager to contribute to the social change movement and cognisant of the importance of people and responsible leaders to make that happen, I set up Careers4Change in 2016. This is a specialist recruitment consultancy connecting purpose-driven individuals with social economy organisations and mainstream businesses committed to a social impact agenda. Careers4Change has grown considerably since its inception and has enabled multiple change makers to achieve their ambition, of using their diverse skillsets to drive social innovation. Whether focusing on social investment or impact investment, sustaining and building communities, driving bolder and smarter environmental sustainability, promoting clean energy, or advocating for equality around the world, I believe that with the right talented and qualified human capital in strategic positions in social economy organisations and mainstream corporates, we can build a better, more sustainable future. I was recruiting into senior positions in CSR & sustainability across FTSE100 and FTSE250 companies, connecting with a variety of professionals within this field and identifying the complex skill sets and qualifications required for the aspirational sustainability managers of the future. Establishing connections with, and supporting, the organisational bodies and conference organisers which are active in this field, helped to strengthen our outreach. This was a fascinating role reaching out to leading decision makers in corporate responsibility, sustainability, community affairs, impact investment, marketing and management across the corporate arena to support, and engage with, the social enterprise sector. A pioneering business development role which encouraged major corporations, including investment banks, to re-evaluate their policy with regards to procurement and supply chains, employee retention and engagement, community engagement and social impact, we managed to deliver a number of original programmes.
