Throughout my experience in fast-paced agile environments, Shawn is by far the best UX designer and prototype developer I've worked with. Shawn's spot-on intuition for the best customer experience and ability to quickly iterate on prototypes helped me get to the best product design fast... faster than I expect, every time. As a UX designer, Shawn has the necessary depth of experience, always has knowledge of the latest movements in interaction design, and fights ruthlessly for the best customer experience despite times when I need to push back due to development costs. When it comes time to ship a product with Shawn leading design, I always have confidence that we've arrived at the best solution given whichever constraints we had to work around. As a web and prototype developer, Shawn is fast. He would frequently churn out product iterations based on customer feedback during breaks between usability research sessions, and it was not uncommon to see him writing code with our web dev team once design was locked. Shawn's talent shines brightest during pre-planning and concept development, when he proposes new directions that the team hadn't considered and creates team alignment through with working examples and industry references to other successful products. I'm eager to work with Shawn again, and I'd be particularly interested in working with him in a leadership role, empowering and driving his team toward innovative, thoughtful customer experiences. I recommend keeping Shawn on your short list.

In any given gathering of game designers, one of those designers has to be the smartest guy in the room. Most of the time, that person is Shawn. I have a tremendous respect for just how great of a systems designer he is, adroitly handling many different types of games remarkably quickly. Not only great at high-level system design, he is quite versatile and comfortable getting his hands dirty with tech and the details of the number crunching as well. I consider myself to be an advanced Excel user, but Shawn easily surpasses me, making Excel do amazing things. On top of that, he is a super nice guy and well-liked and respected by his co-workers and employees. I would happily recommend Shawn for any design position... until I hire him again, I mean. I look forward to working with him again!
