Shawn is a wonderfully talented young woman who brought so much joy to our young cancer patients at Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 in her creative dance therapy classes. Children young and older, boys and girls, went from sad to happy in seconds. It was great physical therapy for them as well; as once children are diagnosed with cancer their physical activity dramatically decreases and they can become very weak. Shawn proved that dance and music crosses all barriers and is a perfect way of communication. She also helped make our adolescent camps very successful and fun. In her commitment to do creative things with sick children we had a dance troupe who have performed at several events and arranged to have costumes donated from the U.S. She also facilitated some interesting fundraising events as well as facilitating introductions with Fullbright and some other American agencies for the benefit of the hospital. I am very happy and proud to have worked with her.
