Tom DeVoto
I hired Shawn in January 2020 to be a Senior Accountant and he immediately became a go to person on our Accounting team. He took ownership for the full accounting of a subsidiary, became a subject matter expert in ASC 842, took responsibility for balance sheet and cash forecasting, all while handling the required responsibilities related to standard month end close activity. We promoted Shawn to Accounting Manager in March 2021 and he took leadership of our Accounts Payable team, quickly implementing process improvements. At the same time, Shawn became an expert in Captive Insurance accounting, a new area for everyone in the company. When I left Agero in October 2021 for another opportunity, the company was without a Controller through March 2022. Shawn held the fort and was the de facto Controller for the majority of the FY21 Financial Statement audit, which was completed successfully with no adjustments in large part because of Shawn’s leadership. Shawn is a great teammate and I would highly recommend working with him.
