Lead Designer and Prototyper of a SCELCE Bioreactor Project. I was tasked to research single-use bioreactors (materials, components, etc.) and design well as product development and testing. In the process, I learned critical thinking skills and immediate problem-solving, especially when the trial runs proved unsuccessful and mitigating actions are required. During the internship, I had the opportunity to draft engineering drawings as well as deal with suppliers and budget management. I also gained experience in product development as well as conducting quality analysis (through multi-stage trial runs). I also had the chance to consider streamlining manufacturing processes to make production cheaper, easier, and overall better in terms of quality through discussions and brainstorming. Throughout the process, I had to write reports as well as present progress updates (trial results and intended mitigating actions for following trials) to my superiors.
