  I began working on the Culture Team. Daily tasks include, but not limited to daily artemia brine shrimp preparations, animal husbandry tasks on all organisms, allocation of organisms for study initiations, daily use of DO and pH meters for water chemistry, receiving organisms or other culture-related packages through mail services, and dietary preparations for organisms. I accepted a position on the sediment team and am now being trained to conduct and follow through with a multitude of sediment related studies using GLP guidelines and proper analytical techniques.

  Seasonal position as an aide for the American Shad Restoration Program. We received American Shad eggs from outside sources and raised them until we were able to release them into nearby river systems. Duties included egg count estimations, disinfection of eggs, mortality determination, Artemia brine food preparation, data recording, transporting of young fry to nearby river systems for releasing, stripping of eggs from adult Shad species, otolith extraction, age determination of adult Shad species, and other duties as necessary.
