Working within the OTC Fixed Income Derivative Operations department for Morgan Stanley. Primary role included daily Affirmation and Confirmation retrievals of both Interest Rate and Credit Swap contracts and ensuring the timely return of these within Industry targets (FED and EMIR). This has enabled me to improve my communication and client service skills. Further to this I was also involved in a number of key projects essential to ensuring the confidentially and accuracy of client data we hold, e.g. collection and verification of Markitwire and DTCC ids. I further ran a project in an attempt to find a more efficient affirmation procedure along with the TriOptima process. Further to this system improvement I utilised marcos on excel to reduce the amount of manual work my team carried out on a daily basis with three of our key reports. I was also heavily involved in training of new members of the team and drawing up a training plan and seeing that this was carried out by the rest of the team and reporting back into management. I ran the Languages at Lunch programme in which I taught small groups of employees Spanish one lunchtime a week - this was made possible through the Women's Business Alliance which I was also a committee member. My main responsibilities included customer service, cash management, visual merchandising, weekly paperwork, reporting to senior management within the company, and use of MS programmes. Working with Coast greatly enhanced my communication and service skills through dealing with customers and more senior members of the company on a daily basis.
