An important responsibility was to provide good support and training to all new employees. It was crucial to recognise that the 'training period' can be a very stressful time for new staff. I therefore tried to be as helpful and approachable as possible. Compassion and patience were required to fulfill this responsibility. Other duties included: Serving customers at the tills and deli, preparing and cooking the deli food (breakfast items, breads and cakes, and dinners), ensuring proper hygiene procedures were carried out in the deli by abiding by HACCP requirements, sweeping, mopping, stocking shelves, date checking and stocktaking, opening and closing the shop.
