  As part of the database team, I provide support for multiple oracle databases in production, staging, QA, and development environments. The database versions vary from 8, 9i, 9i RAC, 10g to 11g and involve both OLTP and data warehouse environments. Platforms include Linux, Solaris, and most recently utilizing AWS. I have assisted with database upgrades from 10g to 11g, moving from a file system configuration to ASM, and migrating some of our Oracle 11g databases to the AWS cloud. We eventually then successfully migrated off of Oracle to a new PostgreSQL Aurora environment in AWS. I was responsible for the review and creation of all application and user accounts, as well as all needed roles and privileges. I have provided 24x7 production support to both Oracle and PostgreSQL environments as needed. I also have represented the database tier in our audit compliance requirements for both SOX and PCI for many years. I meet with both internal and external auditors on an annual basis to present our evidence of reviews and enforcing of policies. Show less

  As part of the Oracle database team, provided support for multiple oracle databases in production, staging, and development environments. I was tasked with mostly production administration work ranging from database upgrades, patching, user/application support issues, as well as taking part in a 24x7 oncall rotation. I worked with other dbas to migrate some of our standalone Oracle databases into a newly created Solaris environment which utilized Oracle containers.
