Shaun’s management style was approachable, reliable and supportive. He had a great rapport with all staff from senior management to the more junior team members within FreestyleXtreme. His focus on innovation was particularly noticeable, suggesting new ways to streamline processes and systems. Getting the best out of the company’s personnel, he and the rest of the directors created a successful multinational e-commerce business whilst maintaining high employee retention. I was fortunate to work for Shaun over a 10-year period, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again in future.

I worked with Shaun who was managing director at FreestyleXtreme. Shaun was managing marketing and advertising campaigns for multiple different markets simultaneously and despite his workload handled each campaign expertly ensuring they met his standards and responded quickly and professionally, a pleasure to do business with.

Domino Dot Digital was a small, specialised eCommerce consultancy and digital marketing agency. The company's main focus was helping UK online retailers expand internationally. We mostly oversaw large complex projects including; • Website development and deployment • Online marketplace expansions • WMS implementations • Logistical efficiency drives • Digital marketing campaigns I closed the agency down when I was head hunted by Pipers Farm. After overseeing year on year ecommerce growth of 120% I was promoted to Managing Director, with full responsibility for strategy and company direction, on top of my existing eCommerce responsibilities. • During this period we grew ecommerce sales from £1.2 million to close to £20m • Expanded internationally with 20 localised website storefronts in 12 languages and 14 currencies• Achieved an industry leading Trust Pilot customer feedback score of 9.8 out of 10• Developed one of the largest social media followings in the action sports market - 660,000 highly engaged fans on Facebook with a weekly content reach of 5million+• Launched on 24 Marketplaces globally including Amazon, eBay, Cdiscount, Catch, Trademe, La Redoute and more - growing marketplace sales from £0 to 26% of overall revenue• Redeveloped the legacy .NET website platform in an MVC framework with a mobile friendly responsive front end, without any loss of traffic and a 77% increase in revenue year on year• Spent 6 months learning Power Query so I could build a comprehensive suite of Business Intelligence dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. This saved over £100k in agency feesWhen the company ceased trading in 2019 we had over 80 staff in offices in Bristol UK, Nicosia Cyprus and Bucharest Romania, with fulfilment centres in Bristol UK and Senec Slovakia. • Director Of Ecommerce
      • Jan 2009 - Mar 2010

The company went through a full restructure and total change of its business model to focus solely on ecommerce. I was tasked with very quickly growing the ecommerce side of the business, which I did. • In the first full year of pivoting to ecommerce we achieved revenue growth of 120% year on year. • I built a digital team from scratch including new departments for marketing, software development & data management. • Launched the business onto international marketplaces using Channel Advisor to supplement website sales. • Successfully expanded the product range to include more mainstream sports and brands, without alienating the company's core customer base of niche sports and lifestyle scenes. • Devised, developed and implemented strategies for PPC, SEO, Social Media, CRM, CRO and Brand Development. Brand licensing, wholesale, live events and traditional retail operations were all shutdown. I assumed full responsibility for sales, website development and marketing including PPC, SEO, email marketing and social media marketing, customer experience, merchandising and conversion rate optimization. • Sales Director
      • May 2008 - Jan 2009

After a successful year of handling the company's logistics and operations I was promoted to the board of directors and took a more active role in the decision making process. I continued to oversee the company's logistics and operations while also becoming responsible for sales. • Developed a mobile store and promotional stand that toured Europe with the Motocross Grand Prix series and World Superbike, trading at each round and promoting the website. • The mobile store achieved sales of up to €40,000 per event while substantially growing our customer base. • Created and implimented a buying and procurement strategy then head hunted a suitable Buyer to manage it, who later became a director. • Learnt how to code Visual Basic so I could develop customised sales reports myself because we had no development resource. These reports were still being used by the buying team 5 years later until I learned Power Query and rebuilt them all in Microsoft Power BI. I used my increased influence as a member of the board to convince the other directors and the shareholders that we should fully pivot the business to ecommerce. The results from Google Adwords and Facebook were far exceeding the live event promotions at a fraction of the cost, and the company's wholesale operations faltered during the credit crunch. I faced a huge amount of resistence and it look over two years to get buy-in from everyone. The subsequent move to ecommerce was a huge success. Show less
