During 1 year internship, I was posted to different medical specialties like community medicine, general medicine, surgery, obstetric & gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology,psychiatry etc, in Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. Duration of posting in each specialty varies from 2 weeks to 8 weeks. During clinical postings We have to take detailed history, do physical examinations, send labs and prescribe drugs, follow up or do admission of patients to wards under supervision of Residents and Professors. During my surgical internship I was trained for suturing, urinary catheter placement, assisting residents in different emergency surgical procedures (like ICD placement) and operations in OR.
