  Manage all aspects of the In-Home Tutoring Program for refugees throughout the Denver area, as well as the in-school classroom volunteer program in the English Language Acquisition department. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, matching, supporting, educating, maintaining relationships with and collecting data related to 200 volunteers and more than 100 in-home refugee students annually. Grew in-home program participation from 25 volunteers to nearly 100 in the first two years of management. Increased classroom volunteer base from 35 to nearly 100 in less than two years.Meet with and assess language and literacy of students referred to the in-home tutoring program. Identify academic and social challenges and note needs and goals of each learner. Establish and maintain relationships and collaborate with a wide variety of community contacts and recruiting sourcesWrite and update training curricula and materials regularly. Create and distribute marketing materials and press releases related to the volunteer programs. Maintain program website, blog, newsletters, and multiple social media accounts.Provide technical and instructional support, coaching, and ongoing training to all volunteers.Report program activity, statistics, and student progress via monthly and trimester reports to the State Refugee Office and other program stakeholders.Frequent conference and workshop presenter at the national and local levels on topics related to refugee issues, program management, and innovative instruction.Conceptualized, launched, and managed a wide variety of special projects to raise awareness of refugee concerns while educating the receiving community. Projects included film festivals, book clubs, online discussion forums, presentations, photo exhibit, artisan events, and strategically placed displays at Emily Griffith Technical College.Chair, Volunteer Consortium of the Colorado Refugee Network, 2001-2008.
