    • Store Manager (2014 – 2015), Assistant Manager (2010 – 2014)
      • Dec 2010 - May 2016

As the Store Manager, I oversee all business operations and manage the daily activities of a bustling store. My role involves recruiting, scheduling, training, and supervising a team of 10 employees, ensuring that we maintain adequate stock levels through timely supply orders, and controlling our budget and inventory. In addition, I am responsible for managing our accounts, which includes payroll and profit and loss records, as well as handling all cash and banking transactions. Throughout my tenure, I have been promoted to progressively responsible positions due to my exceptional performance, consistently exceeding weekly sales targets by 20-30% and increasing annual turnover by 20-30% while reducing labor and food costs. I take pride in my ability to effectively manage a team, control expenses, and drive sales growth while ensuring a positive customer experience. My focus on excellence and attention to detail have contributed significantly to the success of the business. Show less

I was involved in the Ophthalmic Research Institute of Australia (ORIA) project, which focused on experimental work to produce macroporous alginate fibres incorporating retinal neurons. Applying the technology developed during my Ph.D. studies, I successfully produced alginate fibre guides encapsulating dorsal root ganglion neurons. My responsibilities included physicochemical characterisation of the fibres, which involved environmental scanning, electron microscopy (ESEM), and analysis of fibre porosity and cell distribution using confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). I also cultured the neuron-loaded fibres in a culture medium and characterised cell growth rates and development, including dendrite formation. CLSM analysis of the neuron-loaded fibres was carried out following cell staining to correlate cell development and location with the macropore structure. Show less
