Honored to be part of a team that believes in building community and serving community while reducing the stigma of mental health. With a staff of 20+ therapists, On Purpose provides individual counseling, couples counseling, family therapy, art therapy, yoga therapy, play therapy, children's social skills groups, business coaching, brainspotting, ....   Yikes! Just realized I still have my freelance work on here. Actually, have taken a deep dive into my clinical mental health master's program and am on the last leg of that journey. Still teaching yoga, working with the Thunder & Rain Family support group and supporting our recovery community on the board of Ignite Recovery, Inc.   A "SiMu" is just a title at Chinese martial arts schools for the person who married the head instructor. In our studio, however, it was the role of business manager, marketing exec, instructor, program manager, strategic planner and janitor. Small businesses thrive when everyone pitches in. Did that while raising children, finishing college, and working in consulting until 1999, then gave it a go for about 15 years full-time. Returned to freelance and consulting work in 2009 when the economy tanked and then just kept going. Oh, in a family two incomes are so much better than one.

  I began with the firm in 1993 as a staff consultant and continued on to Director of Market Research before leaving to launch ShaoLin Center in 1999. Returning in 2009, I took a Senior Consultant role, with increasing responsibilities to the team. Market Intelligence * Identified research strategies and implementation plans for a wide range of industries and service organizations in manufacturing, IT, commercial and the non-profit sectors. *Well-versed in both primary and secondary research methodologies with an emphasis on providing complex results in a clear, easily digestible format. * Scripted questionnaires, designed telephone, online and in-person interview guides and have developed an approachable (and professional) interview style. * Conducted interviews with a variety of professionals – from construction company mid-level managers to senior executives in association management, from passersby at the Football Hall of Fame to leading scientists at the International Standards Organization Headquarters (ISO). * Being one of the sole support members in team training sessions and focus groups, I received ample opportunities to attune to important messaging and capture critical data in group settings. * In the last two years , I became deeply entrenched in the international standards arena, conducting high level studies for one of the world's largest technical societies. These included diverse subjects -- anything from a wealth management firm’s value-added publication to its customers to an SAE’s Whitepaper on ISO 14000. Creative * As a key member of BDD’s marketing team, designed and wrote copy for flyers, fulfillment lit and other promotional pieces. * Responsible for concepts and creative in the direct mail campaign for a catering company, targeting child and adult day cares in the southeastern Wisconsin/Northern Illinois region.
