Office Manager
-
Aug 2018 - Feb 2022
The title on my business card says "Office Manager" but in reality, I'm a juggler. One ball, larger than the others, does have the word "Office Manager" emblazoned which explains my official title. Keeping this ball in the air means: * Keeping computers fairly up to date and current with their programs and memory; * Making sure all subscriptions online and otherwise are current and useful, unsubscribing to any that aren't; * Anticipating breakdowns and maintaining backups; * Being positive even when fire sprinklers are shorting out equipment; * Arranging in-office events and the food & beverages for them.Another ball has "Bookkeeper" on it. Keeping this crucial ball in the air means: * Paying folks and avoiding late fees, of course; * Keeping track of all the automatic payments and stopping them when necessary; * Depositing checks (a favorite because it means we all get paid); * Making sure costs are attributed to the right programs.A much smaller ball says "Executive Assistant" on it. Keeping this afloat means: * Keeping the CEO's and President's calendar; * Greeting arrivals; * Distributing the mail and making sure important items get reviewed immediately.Lastly, "Gofer" is on the last teeny tiny ball. I go for: * Stamps; * Bank deposits; * Copies; * Whatever the office needs. Show less
