  Teachers service commission of Kenya is an independent commission established under the constitution of Kenya to manage human resource within the education sector. It is based in the capitol city, Nairobi with offices in all 47 counties. Responsibilities • Introduction of newly appointed teachers into the Teachers Service Commission payroll system. • Issuing the teachers with letter of probationary appointment and confirmation of appointment. • Changing work station for transferred teachers. • Adjusting teacher’s salary and allowances on promotion. • Reviewing teacher’s salary according to the CBA agreements. • Reinstatement of teachers back to payroll system after disciplinary cases. • Advising teachers on matters relating to their employment. • Receiving calls from teachers and advising them accordingly. • Payment of arrears when a teacher transfers from non- hardship to a hardship area. • Payment of transfer allowance. • Making sure the teachers have provided all the necessary documents such as KRA, NHIF before introducing them into the payroll system. • Adjusting salaries on annual increment according to CBA agreements. • Attending queries and issues of the teachers at the office. • Any other duty assigned by management.
