Responsible for the administration of student admissions including matriculation, assessment (testing), recruitment efforts and management of Title IV funding in accordance with State and Federal codes and regulations and District policies and procedures. Serve as upper-level management for main campus financial aid office and the College Connect Program student population matriculating at either SUBR or SUNO. Serve as Ombudsman for the Admissions, Recruitment, and Financial Aid offices by helping to create an environment that provides quality customer service. Review Special Circumstances requests and render Professional Judgment determinations based on established criteria, on a case-by-case basis. Provide weekly report of activities and detail financial aid status of student population to the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Assist students with FAFSA completion and verification documentation. Respond to inquiries and providing guidance as it relates to federal, state, institutional and departmental policies and procedures. Counsel students and parents to provide guidance through the financial aid process. Conduct follow-up activities in strict compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations. Provide informational sessions for students, parents, and in the community. Compile data for for reporting and audit purposes. Serve as the chief administrator for the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. Administer a student financial aid program consisting of federal, state, and local funds exceeding $140 million annually. Supervise the receipt, evaluation, and approval of requests for all programs. Ensure effective and efficient use of automated financial aid management systems, and ensure that the University's use of funds is in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Participate with the leadership of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management by planning and implementing appropriate strategies to maximize the use of financial aid in support of recruitment and enrollment goals of the college. I develop, articulate, and implement policies and procedures for student financial aid including all federal, state, institutional, and privately funded financial aid programs, and loan default prevention. Ensure compliance with federal, state, private and College regulations and program guidelines. Evaluate the requirements for the institutions receipt of a student’s financial aid eligibility by: analyzing and monitoring the student’s enrollment, financial account, other financial aid, and academic records; and staying abreast of the changing regulatory environment that may impact the institutions policies and procedures for receiving and processing Title IV, state, and institutional aid. Manage the processing of FAFSA applications and awarding of aid for eligible students by coordinating with applicable institutional departments (Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts) and ensuring all awards and related documentation are processed timely and accurately.
