      I am employed as an academic facilitator for three different courses, namely English Academic Literacy for Humanities students, Social Science in Africa and Introduction to Social Science Research.English Academic Literacy takes place in a face-to-face format and includes around 45 students in the class. I perform the following duties in this role:- Deliver the course content in a manner that facilitates practical learning and encourages individual participation from students.- Provide individual guidance and support to help students overcome academic difficulties and reach their goals.- Develop and implement reward and engagement strategies that encourage student learning and improve their academic performance.- Provide feedback to students on their academic performance, including areas of improvement and areas of success.- Create engaging and useful Powe point Presentations to capture students' attention in class.- Work in a stem cell group with colleagues to improve my performance as a facilitator.Both the Social Science in Africa and Introduction to Social Science Research takes place in an online format on blackboard collaborate. It includes anywhere from 10 to 40 students in each session. This role includes the same duties mentioned above and additionally includes:- Develop strategies to facilitate engagement by students in an online format. For example, making use of the different functions on blackboard collaborate, such as polls to allow students to engage in a manner that they feel comfortable with.- Collaborating with colleagues to create content and slides for each week's tutorials that work in collaboration to that week's lecture. - Work with a co-facilitator for each session to facilitate learning and improve academic performance in students.       As a Write Site consultant, I work in a face-to-face capacity with individual students to improve their academic writing and I act as a presenter and co-presenter for various writing workshops provided by the Write Site to different cohorts of students. I fulfil the following duties in this role:- prepare for various different types of essay assignments that students may require assistance with.- Improve students understanding of basic essay writing concept's that align with their personal and individual struggles.- Help students tackle higher order issues such as understanding what the question is asking them to do, how they should go about building their argument and how their argument should flow correctly to provide cohesion in their writing.- I also advise on lover order issues such as grammar, punctuation and referencing.- As a workshop presenter, I am tasked with presenting workshops that facilitate students learning and understanding of different aspects of academic writing. Workshops usually include around 30 students at a time.- As a co-presenter of workshops, I assist with behind-the-scenes aspects of a workshop. I create and facilitate different art related courses that not only focus on developing art skills amongst girls but also focuses on personal psychological development. I am currently completing my research masters in psychology and I use the skill I have acquired to inspire the girls I meet through the program.
