- Support and carry out the agricultural research projects in the irrigation and water quality program, under the direction of Farm Advisor, Michael Cahn, Ph.D. - Responsible for all field trials from cradle to grave. - Conducted trials consisting of: irrigation cut off, distribution uniformity, polyacrylamide, runoff/ sedimentation (nutrient loading), irrigation evaluation, evapotransperation and vegetated ditches. - Setup and maintained data loggers (Campbell scientific CR-1000/ CR200, Hansen and Hobo) - In-depth knowledge of setting up photovoltaic panels to power all mobile field sites. - Coordinated experiment protocols with industry leaders, such as Fresh Express, Dole and Sea Mist on water quality improvement through different irrigation practices such as irrigation scheduling and evapotransperation management. - Used IR (infra red) photography (Tetracam) to measure canopy coverage in several commodities, which can be used for crop irrigation scheduling. - Use of pump systems to inject chemicals in to irrigation systems to control erosion - Complied raw data using Excel or other statistical programs so that the information may be analyzed.
