Throughout this 6 month placement I worked for the Enterprise Project Management Office: mapping, transforming and analysing data across various applications to improve processes and drive actionable insights. Using Alteryx and Tableau, I developed the data maturity across the function, documenting and governing my work to ensure successful handover for lasting value.

During this rotation I worked across Resilience and IT Risk Governance as a wider part of the Security and Resilience team.My work within Resilience spanned four dimensions, namely Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Resilience Governance. I gained experience with continuity planning and impact analyses, IT System fail-overs and crisis training exercises. I was able to develop a series of simulation exercises designed to allow teams to practise their responses to adversity. I also took the opportunity to learn HTML and CSS in order to develop a more interactive and enticing web-page for display on the intranet. Within IT Risk Governance I coordinated the tracking and updating of Security and Resilience, Business Change and IT audit actions which gave me a holistic insight into the challenges faced and the processes required to design and implement responsive improvements. I experienced working across multiple lines with a shared objective but a different viewpoint, compounding my beliefs in promoting visibility and collaboration in companies.Compiling and summarising the monthly IT KRI report and Risk Appetite summary gave me an understanding of the regular challenges faced by IT and Security departments, and how those challenges and their improvements are monitored.Overall this rotation provided me with exposure to an increasingly important aspect of any organisation. I developed a broad range of knowledge that i've no doubt will remain relevant throughout my career, and i thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience. Show less
