I was a graduate student with Shara and worked with her on a number of projects including mock event planning which included proposed tour itineraries. These were more difficult that one would think. Shara also served faithfully on the board of the Friends of Arizona Archives (FAzA) which successfully advocated for the construction of a new Arizona State Archives. Shara edited the FAzA newsletter for two years from 2003-2005. Her organizational and speaking abilities were quite evident in her work with FAzA and National History Day in Arizona's East Valley Regional Competitions, the latter of which I witnessed first hand as a competition judge. I would recommend Shara for any position that required organizational skills, public speaking, and, as a fellow Public Historian, historical research.

Through Past Present, LLC, Shara has managed the historic Princess Theatre in Prosser, WA since October 2014. Valley Theater Company, the not-for-profit that owns the facility, has benefited from Shara's attention to detail, professional approach and excellent customer service. Shara excels at event planning/management and historical research, understands the importance of maintenance for a historic building, capably manages and effectively uses social media, and leads VTC's efforts for grant writing. As president of the VTC Board of Directors, I have depended on Shara's insights and expertise as we preserve our 90+ year-old building and develop our cultural outreach efforts.
