I register patients that come into the ER along with completing hands on care to help the nurse out from 11p-7a. I stay at the desk from 6:30p-11p. I also fax patient information, print out patient stickers and other information for the hospital, and clean. Cleaning duties include cleaning and wiping down rooms when patients leave, stocking rooms with supplies, and stocking rooms with linens. Sometimes I also complete EKG’s for the nurses if they are busy. I register patients that come into the ER along with completing hands on care to help the nurse out from 11p-7a. While working here it is my duty to help my residents complete every day tasks such as bathing, dressing, feeding. Even though this job can be stressful, I always try to have fun with my residents. Sometimes, I do hair, paint nails, and even try to take a few minutes just to sit down with the residents and even their family, time permitting of course. Again, I am also a major advocate for my residents and am always on the lookout for suspicious things like bruises and other marks that I have never seen before. Show less

While working as a DSP, I was there to help my consumers in any way possible, including hands on things like bathing, feeding, etc;. I was also a major advocate for my consumers during my time of employment here. Another major task that I completed almost daily was medication administration. It was my job to keep track of the time and when medications were to be given.
